National Anthem of India : Recent Supreme Court's Verdict

The National Anthem of India with an underlying message of pluralism was written and composed by the Nobel Laureate and an internationally acclaimed poet Shri Rabindranath Tagore during the Indian struggle for independence. The anthem forms the core of the ethos of Indian society and it is a civic duty of every citizen of the country to show due respect to the anthem while it is been sung, recited or played.

Keeping this into consideration, the Supreme Court of India has recently announced a verdict on National Anthem. The verdict was based on a writ petition filed before the court.
